Brighton and Southampton battle for Dutch talent, Albion trail Sunderland in race to seal £2m-rated defender

The international break hasn’t put a stop to the transfer speculation surrounding Brighton and Hove Albion.

And according to reports, Graham Potter is eyeing one of the south coast’s most exciting talents.

Football League World claim Brighton, along with Southampton, are keeping tabs on Bournemouth forward Arnaut Danjuma.

The Dutchman has been in top form this season with 10 goals and four assists, though it hasn’t been enough to fire the Cherries into the play-offs places.

If Jonathan Woodgate’s side fail to earn immediate promotion to the Premier League, the 24-year-old could well be on his way.

The report adds that Albion and the Saints are both ideally located for the player should they lodge an official approach.

Meanwhile, Brighton appear to be trailing in the race to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Dion Sanderson.

As per the Daily Mail, Sunderland, the club he is currently on loan at, have opened talks over a permanent transfer.

The 21-year-old has become a fans favourite during his season at the Stadium of Light, which caught the attention of teams elsewhere.

One of those is claimed to be Brighton and Championship promotion-chasers Brentford.

But if Albion’s interest in the former Cardiff City loanee is genuine, they’ll seemingly have to act soon.

Here are the latest headlines surrounding Brighton and their Premier League rivals:
