El Submarino Amarillo would welcome any ‘economic injection’ as it would allow the club to focus on additions elsewhere on the pitch, with new manager Unai Emery linked with signing Takefusa Kubo and Oscar Rodríguez.

Spanish outlet Super Deporte say there is a ‘serious possibility’ of the 24-year-old Andalusian moving to a club in England in search of a new challenge.

The newspaper reports that the Seagulls are interested in signing the left-back, who spent last season on loan at Real Betis.

The player isn’t thought to be in ex-Arsenal gaffer Emery’s plans, with Villarreal would be looking for a fee in the region of €6-8m if they were to let him depart the Estadio de la Ceramica.

That works out at approximately £5.4m-£7.2m.
