Shane Duffy’s season-long loan move for Celtic hasn’t gone to plan thus far having not started a match since November 5.

This has led to criticism of Republic of Ireland defender and as a result, former Everton striker Kevin Campbell believes his time in Scotland could be cut short.

He told Football Insider: “Shane Duffy has been highly successful in the Premier League and you would have expected him to hit the ground running.

“But Celtic have not been playing well, it is not just him. They have been conceding cheap goals and struggling to score.

“They are not blowing teams away anymore so every player will be looked at. The club may look at the Duffy situation and see it as a cost they do not need. That is probably the way they are looking at it.”
