Speaking to BBC 5 Live, the 37-year-old said: "I left the club under Graham Potter's tenure but I left happily and he supported my decision. I think he has done a fantastic job.

"The club is going through a transitional period and they are going through it really well. It is perfect apart from not getting as many goals as they would like.

"Once he gets that right I think he can really push the club forward."
