In fact, with the likes of Lewis Dunk, Ben White, Dan Burn, and Adam Webster on the books, there’s probably an argument to be made for Graham Potter having some of the best strength in depth in the division at the heart of defence.
But if a report from 90min is to be believed, Albion could be looking to bolster their ranks further with a move for Jack Hendry.
The online publication list the Seagulls as one of a number of Premier League clubs who are keeping tabs on the 25-year-old Scot, with Burnley having already made a bid.
The Clarets have been knocked back, however, and it’s largely due to Hendry’s complex situation right now.
The centre-back is on loan at Belgian club KV Oostende from Celtic, and has impressed hugely this season.
But while his parent club would be willing to sell, Oostende are less keen to part with the player, and seeing as they have the option to make his stay on the continent permanent at the end of the season, the final decision ultimately rests with them.
It’s not hard to see why Hendry is attracting so much attention though.
So far this season, the Scot has a pass completion rate of 90.4%, a duel win rate of 68.9%, and has made 6.73 interceptions per game, as per Wyscout.
To contextualise those figures, Ben White has a pass completion rate of 85.4%, a duel win rate of 54.6%, and has made 4.37 interceptions per outing this term.
Elsewhere, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has delivered a worrying update on Liverpool’s interest in Yves Bissouma.
Speaking to Anfield Watch, he confirmed that the Reds have identified the Albion man as a potential replacement for Dutch midfielder Gini Wijnaldum.
He said: “We’re talking about players being scouted rather than talks at the moment.
“Bissouma has been scouted and is appreciated as a player but I’ll mention [Lille midfielder] Renato Sanches as well.
“Liverpool have a list and they’ll decide in April who they want to go for.”
The Italian has a stellar reputation for his transfer updates...
