Man United defender Harry Maguire collides with Brighton striker Danny Welbeck

Former United striker Danny Welbeck had given impressive Brighton a first half lead but Rashford pulled United level when he expertly slotted home a sharp pass from Bruno Fernandes

Greenwood sealed the victory on 83 minutes when he headed home from close range.

Brighton were fuming however as they were denied a penalty as the scores were locked at 1-1. Harry Maguire appeared to have held back Welbeck but VAR and referee Mike Dean thought otherwise.

No chance with Rashford's goal and beaten by Greenwood's scrappy winner. One risky pass in the first half when trying to play out from the back and saw Greenwood's effort hit the base of the post early on. Remained steady and confident throughout. Very acrobatic stop to close down Fernandes on the hour.

On the right of a three man defence and for the most part coped well with the threat of Rashford. The United striker though took his goal well and just slotted his finish beyond White's despairing sliding tackle. White So close to clearing Greenwood's winner off the line
Had a great chance in the first half when his powerful header from Gross' freekick was tipped over. Defended well and totally nullified Cavani
Doesn't matter where you place him on the pitch he looks comfortable. Defends well and unlucky to be on the losing side
Played on the right and his delivery from a first half half freekick so nearly saw Dunk head home a second. Faded in the second half as United's dominated possession
Bissouma Injured his arm in the first half after colliding with Cavani. Played on and provided a solid defensive midfield base. Very disciplined and drove forward when he could
Looked the best midfielder on the pitch in the first half and outshone Pogba and Fernandes. Was pushed back after the break and struggled to have the same influence
Left wing back is far from his natural position but he did a good job for the team once again. A very athletic and physical player and seems to be settling in nicely to the Premier League
Quiet game for the Belgian compared to his recent performances. Replaced by Mac Allister on 64 minutes.
Worked tirelessly for the team and held the ball up well and linked the play. Superb cross for Welbeck's goal. Very good display from the Frenchman
Has scored three goals against his former club. The focal point of the attack and finished his big chance well at the second attempt. Four goals for Welbeck this season and fans are calling for a new contract. Unlucky not to get a penalty when he appeared to be pulled back by Harry Maguire
On for Trossard on 64 minutes but couldn't make an impact in the No 10 role
A very late replacement for Lallana
On late in place of Moder with no chance to impact the match
