A calamitous Jake Livermore own goal had given the hosts a first-half lead but Albion couldn't find a second and were punished late on by Grant's first goal for the Baggies. Scroll down and click through to see who shone and who struggled for Graham Potter's men, who are still searching for their first home win of the season.
9. Adam Lallana 7/10
Was one of Brighton's stand-out performers. His lovely pass set up Neal Maupay for an early goal which was ruled out for offside. Was very unselfish to slide Maupay in for one-on-one on 22nd minute, when he could have shot himself. Replaced by Pascal Groß just after the hour mark (Photo by Glyn Kirk - Pool/Getty Images)
10. Leandro Trossard - 7
Trossard linked up play well, and had a couple of shots on target which were dealt with relatively comfortably. His great pass to Lamptey led to the opening goal. Replaced by Steven Alzate for final ten minutes

11. Neal Maupay - 5
A difficult evening for the Frenchman. Very few chances but he did have an early volley ruled out for offside and was denied by a top class save from Johnstone. Anonymous in the second half as the Seagulls failed to double their advantage

12. Pascal Groß - 5
Was brought on by Potter in the second half in the hope he would create a decisive second goal but he was unable to impact the game before the late leveller
