Tau experienced his first taste of English football last Sunday as a second half substitute during Albion's FA Cup penalty shootout victory at Newport.
The South African international, who was recalled from his loan in Belgium last week, could now be thrust into Brighton' s starting XI and partner Neal Maupay in attack.
Brighton are struggling with injuries as Tariq Lamptey (hamstring), Aaron Connolly (hamstring), Danny Welbeck (knee) and Adam Lallana (illness) are all missing.
Alireza Jahanbakhsh is also doubtful having picked up a 'minor injury' in Newport.

5. Joel Veltman
The Dutch international has proved a solid signing following his summer arrival. Will likely play at right wing back due to the continued absence of Lamptey

6. Davy Propper
Has had his injury issues this season but Brighton will need him back to his best for the second half of the season. Will likely play a deeper role in central midfield in place of the suspended Yves Bissouma

7. Pascal Gross
Many thought he could be on the way out this season but has proved his value to the team once more and a reliable and trusted figure in Graham Potter's squad. Could be a more central role for Gross tonight.

8. Leo Trossard
A slightly frustrating season for the Belgian. Was one of Albion's brighter sparks after the first lockdown but has been off the pace of the late. He will likely be one of the more advanced midfielders at City tonight and try to link with the attack.
