The Seagulls are ninth in the table with nine points after their first six matches with two wins, three draws and a defeat. Last Saturday’s 4-2 loss at Chelsea was Fabian Hurzeler’s first defeat since the German head coach arrived from St Pauli last summer.
Much was made of Brighton’s defensive high-line following the loss at Stamford Bridge and Hurzeler admitted he will be speaking to his players this week to see if they are comfortable to continue that tactic against a potent Tottenham attack.
Brighton will hope to have £25m summer signing Brajan Gruda available for the first time this season while Evan Ferguson, previously linked with a move to Tottenham, is pushing for his first Premier League start.
