The Seagulls suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Crystal Palace on Monday night, with a late Christian Benteke strike ultimately proving the difference.

That result ended an unbeaten run of six games for Albion, who are now four points clear of the relegation zone.

For their part, West Brom were held to a stalemate by Burnley at Turf Moor on their last outing, but haven’t won a league game since they beat Wolves 3-2 on January 16th.

And Stelling forecasts another frustrating afternoon for both sides.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Brighton were undone by two Crystal Palace attacks after being in control for the whole game on Monday night, while West Brom drew their second consecutive match against Burnley at the weekend.

"They should have come away with three points, but again the lack of goals for both team will be an issue here.”

The Soccer Saturday host predicts a 1-1 draw.

The last meeting between Brighton and the Baggies also ended in a 1-1 tie, with a late Karlan Grant strike cancelling out a first half own goal from Jake Livermore.

Historically, Albion haven’t always fared too well against their Black Country namesakes. The Seagulls have won just six of their 25 meetings against West Brom over the years, the most recent of which came in the FA Cup in 2019.

Florin Andone and Glenn Murray scored the goals in a 3-1 victory.
