Fulham’s defeat to Burnley earlier in the week means that Albion are guaranteed survival this season, and will go into the weekend without the threat of relegation looming over them.
But just because they are not fighting for their safety, it doesn’t mean that Graham Potter’s men aren’t eager to pick up the win.
That’s according to defender Dan Burn, who has claimed that the aim now is for the Seagulls to surpass their best ever Premier League points tally.
Speaking recently, he said: "Our motivation between now and the end of this season is to beat the record points tally.
"We’ve got three games to get four points. The pressure is off now, so we want to pick up the points to show progress.
“There are definitely exciting times ahead.
"We’ve had a big turnover of players and the lads who have played a lot of games this season have come from other countries and cultures and needed time to settle in.
“The more time we spend together and get to know each other, the better we can buy into the gaffer’s vision and philosophy.
"We can only look back at this campaign positively. The club has the vision of being in the top ten and I can see that happening, we are building towards that. That’s the aim next season.”
