Late defeat at Tottenham is 'shattering' for Brighton star
Christian Eriksen got the only goal of the Premier League game two minutes from time after a resolute defensive performance from the Seagulls.
Albion defenders Shane Duffy and Lewis Dunk were excellent in central defence as they blocked numerous shots before Eriksen fired home the late winner from 22 yards.
Speaking to Sky Sports afterwards, Dunk said: "It's shattering. You saw the work rate, we put everything into it.
"We blocked, we headed everything, but that one chance passed us. The positives are we showed again we're hard to beat, we've got to keep going.
"Right now it is gutting, but tomorrow we go through it and look at the positives and negatives. Hopefully there are more positives than negatives.
"We were so deep and tired, we couldn't counter in the second half. We needed to take advantage of our set-plays in the first half."
Brighton remain three points ahead of third-from-bottom Cardiff with three games left each. Albion entertain Newcastle on Saturday, while the Bluebirds travel to Fulham.
