Leandro Trossard: Manchester United's attacking speed and counter press was too much

Brighton and Hove Albion's Leandro Trossard admitted Manchester United were a class above as they enjoyed a comfortable 3-0 win in the Premier League at the Amex.

Few teams have been so dominant against Brighton this season and a brace from the excellent Bruno Fernandes and a fine opening strike from Mason Greenwood sealed the three points.

Trossard was introduced as a second half substitute and was one of Brighton's more impressive performers on a disappointing evening for Graham Potter's men.

Albion were 2-0 down when Trossard came on but the Belgian was prepared to run at the United defence and was unlucky not to score in the second half when his left footed effort flashed narrowly wide of the far post. It would have been a mere consolation though as United were far superior on the night.

"It was very tough," said Trossard. "They have some very good players and quick up front. They controlled the game at the beginning and scored the two and it's hard to come back.

"We had a good response in the second half and I think we have to take the good things out of that.

"They counter press when they lose the ball and it's so hard to get out and that's a really strong thing they do.

"If we score for 2-1, then you can always make it 2-2 but when they scored the 3-0 it is hard to comeback from that against a good side like Man United.

"All credit to them, they played well today and they were stronger than us today."

Brighton are seven points above the drop zone with six matches remaining. This Saturday they head to bottom of the league Norwich City.

Trossard added, "We did well in the second half and we have to take the good parts from that and take it on to Norwich on Saturday and try to win there."
