Manchester United target Alex Telles has asked his club Porto to lower their asking price in order to force through his move to Old Trafford.

Telles has been pried at €20m (£18.3m) but the 27-year-old Brazillian, who is a free agent next summer, feels it's unrealistic and the high price could scupper his dream move.

United value Telles closer to £12m and remain hopeful a deal can be concluded this week but are said to be prepared to negotiate until the close the window on October 5.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to provide more of an attacking option from the left flank and add competition for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams.

Last season Telles scored 11 times for Porto and made eight assists.

United are keen to conclude a deal for the left back having missed out Sergio Reguilon who opted to join Jose Mourinho's Tottenham.

United also plan to make one final bid for Jadon Sancho next week.

It's been reported that United will offer £90m for the Borussia Dortmund winger ahead of deadline day.

Meanwhile, Daniel James is set to stay at United despite interest from Leeds. The Wales winger has struggled for playing time lately, starting just two Premier League matches since football’s June restart.
