Writing his weekly predictions column for BBC Sport, Mark Lawrenson backed the hosts to secure a comfortable 2-0 win over Slaven Bilic's side.

Justifying his pick, the former player claimed: "Brighton's results have not really reflected the fact they are much better team than they were last season.

"They only got a point against Crystal Palace last weekend but we saw in that game that, as well as creating more chances, they are starting to dominate games in midfield. I'm expecting to see more of the same from them here."

Meanwhile, Lawro's sparring partner for the week, Style Council drummer Steve White, went for a 1-0 Baggies win.

The last time the two sides met, back in 2019, the Seagulls earned a 3-1 FA Cup fourth-round replay win at the Hawthorns, thanks to an extra time brace from Glenn Murray.
