The win moves the London club back up to third - a point above fourth-placed Chelsea. Albion meanwhile, are three points clear of Cardiff City and the final relegation place.
Pochettino said: "When you are focused on the game it is difficult to stop, think and say we we are not going to win the game. We scored a minute from the end and I am so happy. We never give up, we tried in different ways to score and Brighton were so difficult to break down.
