Pascal Gross scores the leveller from the spot

. Maty Ryan 6/10
No chance with the goal. A solid save to deny a powerful effort from Hudson-Odoi in the first half. Looking good for new season

. Veltman 6/10
Played right wing back and didn't put a foot wrong. Didn't get forward too much but composed in possession. Replaced by Lamptey on 45

. Ben White 6/10
Disappointed to concede the early goal but didn't let it get to him. Quick across the ground and distribution improved as the half went on. One fine challenge on Werner in the first half when one on one with the German

. Adam Webster 7/10
Left side of the defensive three and played well. Linked well with March on the left. hit the bar with a header in the second half.

. Lewis Dunk 6/10
Was linked with a £40m move to Chelsea but signed a new five-year deal with Albion. A good pre-season run out for the skipper and will hope to form a good understanding with White this season

. Solly March 7/10
Albion's best attacking player in the first half. Attacked the left flank and delivered a couple of nice crosses into the box. Frustrated last season with injury and will hope for better this year.

. Bissouma 7/10
The midfielder looked good early on and provided energy and sharp tackles in the midfield

. Alzate 6/10
Great to see the midfielder ease back after groin issues cut short his breakthrough season. Fit and lively with nice touches. Replaced by Molumby after the break

. Lallana 6/10
First outing after his free transfer from Liverpool. Played on the right of the midfield and pressed Chelsea well when they had possession. Albion fans will look forward to seeing his more creative side as the season progresses. Replaced by Mac Allister at halftime
