Three players Brighton, West Ham and Aston Villa can still sign even after the transfer deadline

Brighton spent approximately £16m this summer as they brought in young Polish duo Michal Karbownik and Jakub Moder, who arrived on deadline day for a combined £10m but will be loaned back to Legia Warsaw and Pozan respectively.

Adam Lallana signed on a free transfer from Liverpool and Dutch international Joel Veltman joined for just under £1m at the start of the window.

Andi Zeqiri, a talented but inexperienced striker, arrived from Swiss club Lausanne-Sport for a reported £3.5m.

However, many Albion fans were left underwhelmed by the transfer window and felt a more experienced forward would support the likes of Neal Maupay, Aaron Connolly, Leandro Trossard and Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

Albion were tracking a striker and a left back for much of the window. They were reportedly keen on Rhian Brewster, who eventually signed for Sheffield United, and Ryan Sessegnon, who moved to Hoffenhiem on loan.

Here's three players who could still be of interest to the Albion management:

Josh King, Bournemouth: Brighton have been looking for a striker to replace Glenn Murray who left during the transfer window on a season long loan to Watford. King, 28, had been linked with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham but both Premier League giants went elsewhere to strengthen their attack.

King remains determined to return to the top flight football and has featured just once for Bournemouth in the Championship this season. His Premier League scoring record is impressive and his 48 goals in 161 appearances make him an obvious target for many clubs.

The Cherries are said to be keen to remove King from their wage bill as they plot a return to the Premier League at the first attempt.

West Ham and Leicester are said to be keen on the Norwegian and Brighton are likely to monitor the situation with great interest.

Rico Henry, Brentford: The left back was hugely impressive for the Bees as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League last campaign.

Aston Villa and West Ham were said to be keen on the attack minded defender, who joined Brentford from Walsall for £1.5m in 2016.

Brighton have started the campaign with Solly March operating at left wing back and Henry is a player who could also suit that formation and provide competition for places on the left flank.

The England under-20 international recovered from a serious knee injury sustained in 2017 and went on to have the season of his career for Thomas Frank's promotion-pushing side.

Many feel he is now ready to step up to the top flight.

Danny Welbeck: The news that the former Manchester United and Arsenal man terminated his contract at Watford would have alerted many top flight clubs across England and Europe.

The 29-year-old striker's deal with Watford included a £5.5m release clause and was set to expire next summer, but the former England man can now sign for a new club as a free agent.

Welbeck failed to shine for the Hornets and scored three times in 20 appearances, having joined them on a free transfer from Arsenal.

But the player capped 42 times by England has undoubted skill and experience and is still a classy operator at Premier League level when fully fit.

His top flight know-how would be a fine addition to a talented but somewhat inexperienced Brighton strike force.
