He has scored 41 goals in 95 appearances, including 28 goals last season as Brentford finished 11th in the Championship.

The Standard report Maupay is not unhappy at the Bees and is unlikely to force a move but his form has attracted interest from clubs across Europe.

Brighton, Sheffield United, Norwich and Aston Villa, managed by former Brentford boss Dean Smith, are all reportedly keen on Maupay, who is also interesting clubs in France, Germany and Italy.

The Sun is reporting Brighton coach and former player Liam Rosenior is in the running to be named new Middlesbrough boss.

The 34-year-old retired last year to take up a coaching role with Albion's under-23 team and he is also a pundit for Sky Sports.

Tony Pulis left Boro in May and bookies' favourite Jonathan Woodgate (8/11), Daniel Stendel (7/2), Slavisa Jokanovic (4/1) and Simon Grayson (10/1) are all names being linked to the job.

Rosenior is priced at 40/1 to be the next Boro manager on SkyBet, while former Brighton manager Chris Hughton is 20/1.
