Albion supporters were surprised not to see midfielder Steven Alzate in the starting line-up for Burnley following his match winner at Liverpool on Wednesday

Alzate has struggled for game time this season but produced a solid performance at Anfield on Wednesday and popped up with the winning goal in the second half, his first for Brighton in the Premier League.

But the Colombia international dropped back on to the bench at Turf Moor with fit-again Alexis Mac Allister and Joel Veltman returning to the midfield.

Leandro Trossard also missed out today as Aaron Connolly returned after hamstring trouble and makes his first start since the 3-3 draw against Wolves.

Trossard has been in decent form lately but Potter probably felt it was right to manage the Belgian's workload.

Neal Maupay retained his place in the starting XI with Percy Tau and Andi Zeqiri eagerly awaiting their chance on the bench.

Polish duo Michal Karbownik and Jakub Moder also make the matchday squad. Left sided player Karbownik must have been close to starting today following the injury to Solly March at Liverpool and an exhausting night's work for Dan Burn at Anfield.

Here's the Albion starting XI: Sanchez; White, Dunk, Webster, Burn; Veltman, Bissouma, Gross, Mac Allister; Connolly, Maupay. Subs Walton, Karbownik, Trossard, Lallana, Moder, Alzate, Tau, Zeqiri.

@wearebrighton: Perhaps Potter is too scared to use his Team Selection Roulette Wheel now in case his new scarf gets caught in it? Another strong Brighton team with minimal changes

@BHA_Bowman: Good lineup imo, hopefully get Connolly firing. Very attacking strong bench as well with at least 5 attacking minded players. UTA

@Brightonfan: Burnley away. Today is going to be a scrap, no doubt about it. Let’s build on Wednesday night and let’s go again today. Normally nervous, I am slightly but am I positive you bet I am!!!! COME ON ALBION!!!! #bhafc
