All the latest team and fixture news for Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton’s Premier League fixture with Chelsea this month has been brought forward.

The Seagulls were due to face Liam Rosenior’s team at the Amex Stadium on Sunday, April 26 at 4pm.

However, the match has now been rearranged for Tuesday, April 21 with an 8pm kick-off. It will be screened live on Sky Sports.

The league clash was rescheduled due to Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final, which is due to be be played on the weekend of April 25.

The Blues reached the last four of the knockout competition thanks to their comfortable 7-0 win against Port Vale at Stamford Bridge last Saturday. They will now face Daniel Farke’s Leeds United at Wembley Stadium for a place in the final.

Quick turnaround for Brighton

The rearranged fixture with Brighton means the Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls will have a quick turnaround time as they play Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, April 18.

After Chelsea, the Seagulls are next in action on May 2 as they make the long trip to Newcastle.

Hurzeler’s men are 10th in the Premier League and a recent uptick in form has them pushing for European qualification.

Hurzeler has options

They resume action following the international break this Saturday at lowly Burnley. Hurzeler wants a strong finish to the campaign and believes improved availability will give him further options.

“Yes, 100 per cent,” said the German to the club website. “I think we have a strong squad.

“We will have options to replace Lewis Dunk (who is suspended for the next two games).

“I think that's also a strength of this team to always be able to react to these kinds of things, to always replace a player if you need to replace a player.

“To replace them not one to one, to replace them as a team, and that's what we will do in the next weeks.

“We will find solutions. We won't complain and then we try to keep the positivity, to keep the momentum, to do the basic things right.”
