No real chance with Burnley's first goal but got a hand to the second. Gave away the penalty which Barnes scored to make it 3-0. Tough evening for the right-back, who wasn't as effective going forward from right-back as normal. Tough time against Woods and Barnes. Deflected low McNeil cross onto the bar in a big let-off for Brighton. Header cleared off the line late in the first half. Headed home Knockaert's free kick to make it 3-1. Charged down low Hendrick strike in the first half. Slip allowed Wood to go through and give Burnley the lead. Tough evening against Burnley's front two. Looked to get forward from left-back. Lovely cross set up March for early chance. Brave challenge to stop Bardsley from shooting shortly afterwards. Back in the starting line-up after missing two games with a hip injury. Looked to keep things simple in front of the back four. Unable to stop McNeil setting up Wood for Burnley's second. Made a bright start but faded the longer the game went on. Had a sweetly-struck volley superbly saved by Heaton. Subbed. Always an option for team-mates to pass to but had a quieter game than in recent weeks. Lively down the right. Header pushed over by Heaton in early exchanges and also saw a fierce strike save by the Burnley keeper. Picked up a knock and subbed early in the second half. Burnley's centre-backs marshalled Albion's top-scorer well. Headed Gross cross wide at the near post late in the first half. Apart from setting up opening for March, struggled to really get into the game. Subbed. Continue Reading
