Simmons, who took on the position after long-serving manager Steve Painter resigned on January 12, has recorded a win, a draw and a loss in his three games in charge.

Andrew Crisp, senior club secretary and director of Broadbridge Heath said: “The last few weeks we’ve witnessed a significant shift in attitude, commitment, and atmosphere on the playing side and therefore believe it makes a lot of sense, from a continuity perspective, to fully support Chris and Kristian for the remainder of the season.

“We wish them every success.”

Heath secured their first victory under Simmons and Sorensen after a 2-0 home win over Saltdean United in the Premier Division on Saturday.

The Bears made a lively start with Jake Hull having the first pop at goal on seven minutes with a right foot curler just wide of the post.

The midfielder was in action again midway through the half when he wriggled his way into the area before being brought to the ground for what looked a clear cut penalty.

But the referee ignored the Heath calls and produced a card from his back pocket for Alfie Jones which led to a ten minute spell in the sin bin.

Heath took the lead five minutes into the second period. Tigers keeper Josh Heyburn came sprinting off his line and clattered into Hull.

The referee immediately blew his whistle for the penalty and Jones placed the ball on the spot and calmly slotted home.

With 20 minutes remaining, Jones was bundled to the ground while shielding the ball from a set-piece, and for the second time the referee pointed to the spot.

Once again Jones stepped up to double Heath’s lead with a well placed kick.

Again Jones was involved at the death when his clearance rebounded off a Saltdean player and struck Conor Evento’s left post.
