Despite valiant work by the Hillians defence West Ham’s speedy wingers and their accurate crosses resulted in the Hillians being 4-0 down midway through the 1st half, although West Ham did fall foul of the Hillians offside trap more often than they would have liked . The experienced Tracey Smith in Hillians goal used her feet as well as her hands to thwart West Hams attacks but with all Hillians players working hard for each other the half still ended with the score line 0-7.

To their credit the Hillians came out for the 2nd half with a positive attitude and succeeded in restricting West Ham to just one additional goal. Several players worked through their pain barrier and the whole squad earned the appreciationof the spectators for their “never say die” attitude right until the final whistle.

Hillians Keeper Tracey Smith was voted player of the Match by sponsors IGS Logistics ., If this attitude and work ethic can be carried forward into the forthcoming games a good season lies ahead for the team

All the Hillians players can be sure that they did the club proud and won many supporters to not only to our Club , but to Women’s Football in general.
