They got themselves ahead in the third minute when a long ball into the edge of the box was flicked on by Marcus Elliott to Romain who clinically slotted home.

Then on 12 minutes Bridges had to make a substitution with Sampson Djaimah being replaced by Jack Murrell.

It took until the 17th minute for Cheshunt to make their first real attack when Joe Clemo’s shot was pushed round the side of the post by keeper Martin Grant.

Bridges were playing the better football of the two teams and it looked like a second goal would come soon.

But it took until the 33rd minute for Bridges to increase the lead, when Abu Touray used his pace down the wing and crossed a delightful ball into the area.

With his back to goal, Romain over head kicked it and saw Cheshunt keeper Matthew Bennett fumble the save and saw it roll into the net.

At half-time Cheshunt made two substitutions as well as a good dressing down one would imagine.

But they came out with determination and were soon bombarding the Bridges goal. In the 48th minute the pressure paid off when a long shot from Luke Marshall sailed into the back of the net.

And just four minutes later they were all level after Will Holmes slotted home from a free-kick.

But Bridges’ heads didn’t go down they battled back and just three minutes later Romain completed his hat-trick by using his pace and a thunderous shot that screamed past the keeper.

It looked like a replay was on the cards when Holmes waltzed through the Bridges side and slotted home for the equaliser.

But with just two minutes to go young academy player Mitchell Casselman, who was on as a sub, crossed a wonderful ball into the area which saw Lee Carney dive and head the ball into the net, which turned out to be the winner.
