Little Common achieved a good 2-0 win away to Steyning Town, Bexhill United fought out a goalless draw at home to Mile Oak and Westfield lost 2-1 at home to Saltdean United.

Common made it 10 points from a possible 15 with their first away league victory since the 1-0 success over Storrington way back on October 12. First half goals from Martin Denny and Steve Morris did the damage.

Bexhill are now five points and two places behind their crosstown rivals having played an extra game following an uneventful stalemate against a Mile Oak side which beat them 4-3 in the reverse fixture on the opening day.

Westfield suffered a 2-1 loss on home soil for the second successive Saturday. They found themselves two-down against a Saltdean side which beat them 5-3 a fortnight earlier before Gordon Cuddington pulled one back with his second goal in as many matches.

See Friday’s Observers for full reports. Rye United’s scheduled trip to Selsey in Division One didn’t go ahead because Rye withdrew from the league on Friday largely due to financial difficulties.
