The hosts were unable to take an early one-on-one opportunity and Clymping made them pay by taking a tenth-minute lead.

A cross from the left ricocheted around in the penalty area before Jordan Farrell slotted home from 15 yards.

Storrington were unable to take another one-on-one chance, while Clymping began to create several chances as they took control of the game.

Harry Thompson hit a post, Farrell struck the bar and Ben Bishop missed from close range, before Clymping did go 2-0 ahead on 34 minutes when Tony Dehnehy headed home.

The second-half introduction of Joe Charman saw Clymping go to three at the back, which gave the visitors a bit more width and they made it count when Bishop sealed the win with 15 minutes remaining.

Clymping boss Mike Williamson said: “We were favourites in terms of the league standings and we did enough to get through.

“It wasn’t a vintage performance but fair play to Storrington as they tried really hard to close us down.

“We had a lot of opportunities and should have made it safe in the first half but we hit the post, hit the bar and missed another chance from only three or four yards.”

Clymping will entertain Predators in the next round.
