Common hotshot trains with Crawley

A teenage talent from Little Common Football Club enjoyed an exciting opportunity with Crawley Town.

Jet-heeled striker Jamie Crone took part in a training session with the youth team of League Two leaders Crawley on Wednesday, last week.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “It came about through (former Bexhill United player) Ben White. He knows one of the guys up at Crawley and he recommended him.”

Crone is the leading scorer for Sussex County League Division Two team Common this season with 11 goals in all competitions despite still being young enough to play for the club’s under-18 side as well.

“I think they were pretty keen on what they saw and hopefully he’ll be invited back up again soon,” added Eldridge. “It’s a good thing for him and a good thing for the club because it shows we’re doing things the right way.”
