Crawley Town have added some much-needed firepower by signing Wolves striker Liam McAlinden on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 22-year-old forward, who joined Wolves in 2010, has become the first signing under new owner Ziya Eren.

The 6ft 1in forward has made 19 appearances at Molineux after his debut in April 2013, but has been subject to a series of loan spells away from the Championship club.

McAlinden hd spell at Shrewsbury Town in 2013 and then Fleetwood in 2014 and last year, before returning to The Blues this season where he has played 11 games and scored once.

Reds boss Mark Yates has been after a new forward to assist Matt Harrold since the departure or Rhus Murphy returned to parent club Oldham Athletic last year.

Last week, he said: “We have missed a lot of strikers who have gone elsewhere while we haven’t been able to do a great deal.

“It is obviously a position we are looking for and if we get the right one then I am more than happy to bring him into the fold.”
