Elliot rung the changes from Saturday’s defeat at Wycombe as the Manager switched out 9 players, only Josh Flint and Toby Mullarkey retaining their places.
Crawley dominated the opening exchanges at the Broadfield Stadium with early chances for Gavan Holohan and Rushian Hepburn-Murphy.

The away side grew into the game, a flurry of chances in the 36th minute tested the gloves of Connal Trueman.
Wimbledon continued their pressure at the end of the first half as Callum Maycock tucked the ball home at the far post to give the Wombles the lead at the break. Another instance where the Reds trail at half time despite healthy possession stats.
As the second half commenced, Crawley found themselves struggling. Two goals in quick succession from Matty Stevens and former Red James Tilley left the score at 3-0 just short of the hour mark.

Hide AdIn an attempt to get the game back, Crawley subbed on the likes of Will Swan, Jeremy Kelly and Armando Quitirna. The latter won the Reds a penalty which Ronan Darcy slotted home in the 70th minute. Crawley’s first goal in four games.
The home side thought they had another goal shortly after, but Hepburn-Murphy’s header was flagged for offside.
The striker finally got his goal in the 79th minute to make it 3-2 and send the game into an exciting finale.
Then, as the red continued to push forward captain Josh Flint found himself with space in front of goal and beat the Wimbledon keeper to equalise proceedings and send the home crowd into raptures.

Hide AdBoth sides were not going to be satisfied with a draw on a stormy night at the Broadfield. Deep into stoppage time Wimbledon found themselves on the attack Joe Pigott beat the keeper to make it 4-3 in a goal fest in West Sussex.
The Reds sit 3rd in their group in the EFL Trophy and will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday where they face Shrewsbury.
