Crawley Town boss Mark Yates admits: '˜We got what we deserved'

A 60th minute goal header from a corner kick by Chris Beardsley settled a game in which visitors Mansfield looked the more likely to score.
Yates also praised Man of the Match Callum Preston who kept his side in the game in only his second game in goal since regular number 1 Darryl Flahavan left the club.

Hide AdHe said: “We probably got what we deserved. It was a frustating end to a frustrating couple of weeks.”
Yates praised: “We knew what we had and a couple of weeks ago I had no qualms putting Callum straight in.
“He was a little bit unlucky losing his place away at Portsmouth. He’s a good keeper and he’s one for the future, definitely.
“They had a couple of chances in the first half and Callum made a couple of good saves but otherwise it was a tight game.

Hide Ad“Our lads are a bit low on confidence and they (Mansfield) had a late win the other night which gave them a boost and we were a bit sluggish.
“There was nothing really in the game except for them hitting us on the break a couple of times.
“We are just making mistakes - we got done by a set-piece - which are costing us.”
