Crawley Town boss sends message ahead of tough Salford City test

Crawley Town face arguably their toughest game of the season so far when they visit League Two leaders Salford City on Saturday.

Bottom-placed Reds go into the game as massive underdogs and many will see this game as a free hit with Colin Kazim-Richards’ side not expected to get anything from it.

But after a convincing win against Bromley in the Jersey Mike’s Trophy and a spirited fightback against Chesterfield, Reds go into the game with confidence.

The Ammies are top by one point but second-placed Barnet have two games in hand.

Kazim-Richards told BBC Sussex and Surrey’s Robin Grey: “Salford are winning. Everybody in this league is beautiful, as we've seen, right? They went through their patch, they've patched it up, I just look at it as they're a good team. They are a good team, and they should be a good team, with how they've invested, and the players, etc.

“They should be a good team, there's no doubt in that. But you always got to look at the holes to pick, you always got to look at the opportunities, see where you can punish, see where you actually got to do better as well, what they bring. And we go into the game, and I don't really look at the media too much, but all you guys are probably talking about how they should expect to win, etc. I have been in football a long time, but we'll see how it goes.”

And despite the gap between the two sides in the table, forward Dylan Morgan said: “I think everyone in this league is beatable. Don't get me wrong, I know Salford are a big team in this league and they'll be expected to be up there.

“So we're going to have to bring our best and we'll have to definitely tighten up and be a strong fit up there. But we prepare for everyone the same. So we're going to go there and try and win.

“We need to win games, so we're going to do that.”
