CRAWLEY TOWN FIXTURES: Reds face Evans at the Broadfield on third Saturday of new season

It will be the first time the Scot has returned to Crawley since leaving for The Millers towards the end of the 2011/12 season, having guided Reds out of the Conference the season before and put them on the path to promotion to League One.

Crawley will start the season at home on Saturday August 3 against Coventry City, then travel to last season’s long-term League 2 leaders Tranmere the following Saturday (August 10), before hosting Rotherham at the Broadfield on August 17 in a fixture which is sure to get Reds fans already buzzing ahead of the new campaign.

Last season Evans guided Rotherham to automatic promotion from League 2 in what was his first full season in charge, and the club are already being tipped for a strong return to League 1 with the owners backing their manager financially, and the club believed to be close to signing striker Danny Hylton and Reds target David Worrall.

Other highlights from the League fixtures, announced this morning, see Reds at home on Boxing Day (December 26) against MK Dons, then again at home against Notts County on December 29 before they go away to Swindon Town on New Year’s Day.

Having started the season at home Reds will finish it at the Broadfield, against relegated Bristol City on Saturday May 3.
