Nathan Ferguson was signed by Gabriele Cioffi at the start of the 2019/20 season and scored on his home debut against Salford City.

Ferguson scored six goals in his first season with the club, the most memorable of those six being the equaliser against Championship side Stoke City that set up the penalty shootout, which the Reds eventually won.

In the 2020/21 season Ferguson featured less often, scoring once against Gillingham in the Papa John’s Trophy, and making 13 appearances for Crawley. He moves to Roots Hall to play for a Southend United team who are currently bottom of League Two, but are only two points adrift of Stevenage in 22nd, outside the relegation zone.

Crawley Chief Erdem Konyar has thanked the midfielder for his services to the club, and believes he will be a success at Southend: “We’d like to thank Ferguson for his great service to the club over the past two seasons. He made a great step up into the professional game and I’m sure he will succeed at Southend”.

Crawley could face Ferguson at Roots Hall on the 10th of April, when the ex-Red will be looking to help the Shrimpers retain their EFL status.
