It wasn’t pretty, but if you want a definition of a professional win this was it....Here Jack Butler rates the Crawley Town players.
9. Jake Hesketh - 6.5
Wide left of the midfield four and showed good touches when breaking infield. Missed a sitter on the hour mark as Nadesan found him unmarked. The youngster was subbed on the 70 minute mark, but showed signs he is starting to become a really promising addition.
10. Ashley Nadesan - 8.5
Had the run on the Salford centre-backs throughout, but missed a glorious chance when he broke through in the opening ten minutes. Few chances in the second half, but was immense in giving Crawley a focal point.
11. Tom Nichols - 8
After a long punt downfield by Morris, Nichols muscled through the Salford defence. Battled past one, jinked past the other Salford centre-back, before tapping in the rebound off a well saved effort. Three goals in four games now for Nichols. He is quality.
12. Josh Wright - 7.5
Won the ball with a few challenges in the middle. Provided another body in the middle, and helped Crawley protect their one goal lead.
