Crawley Town boss John Gregory denies interest in Leon Clarke

Crawley Town manager Gregory has dismissed newspaper speculation linking Wolves striker Leon Clarke with a return to Crawley.

Clarke previously played at Broadfield Stadium in 2012 on loan from Charlton Athletic and it has been said Gregory in on the verge of bringing him back.

The Reds boss said: “I have had no conversations with Leon or anyone else from Wolves. I wish it was true but they paid £750,000 for him and he is earning around £10,000 per week so I don’t think it will happen!”

Crawley have arranged pre-season friendlies against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion at the Checkatrade.com Stadium on Thursday, June 19 and Wednesday, July 23 respectively.
