East Sussex Football League: Top two triumph as dozen games beat rain

It's as you were at the top of the Macron Sports Hub Hastings East Sussex Football League after the leading duo were both victorious last weekend.
Table-topping Westfield II made it nine Premier Division wins out of nine as Shane Qoloni's finish was enough to secure a single-goal success away to The JC Tackleway.
That result means the Westies require 10 points from their five remaining league matches to be crowned champions.
Second-placed Rye Town remain four points behind Westfield having played twice more following a 7-1 home triumph over Sandhurst in their first league outing since mid-December.
Owen Brown and Charlie Stevens netted twice each, and William Brown, Oscar Garcia-Cruz and Jules Phillips were also on the scoresheet for Rye. Robert Briley struck for Sandhurst.
Ten other fixtures involving East Sussex League teams went ahead on Saturday, making it the busiest weekend of action so far in a weather-ravaged 2026.
Hawkhurst United picked up their first points of the season in Division One at the 11th attempt by defeating Westfield III 2-1 away from home. George Lawrence and Mark Mitchell were the Hawks' goal heroes.
Burwash ended a run of four straight defeats in all competitions by overcoming Hollington United II 3-0, despite having a player sent off.
William Blaydon's double and one from Samuel Murrell moved Burwash level on points with third-placed Ticehurst, albeit having played twice more.
Little Common III went top of Division Four after the finishing of Antony Atkin and Ryan Spiers clinched a 2-1 win against Icklesham Casuals II at Bexhill Road.
The Commoners, who have won their last four games in all competitions, are now a point clear of second-placed Bexhill AAC III, albeit having played three more matches.
Ninfield II jumped up two positions from fifth to third thanks to a 6-0 victory over Hollington Hawks Youth at the same venue.
Kye Hardiman struck twice, and Dan Tyler, Tom Ellis, Alex Morley and Josh Stockdale also got in on the act.
Meanwhile, Jesters Town became the first side through to the Macron Store Hastings Cup semi-finals after seeing off Herstmonceux 8-4 in a 12-goal thriller.
Lee Paine and Darcy Poole bagged two goals apiece, and Harry Pearson, Elliot Poole, Samuel Fielder and Muss Camara were also on the scoresheet for Jesters, of the Premier Division, against their Division One hosts.
Division Two outfit The JC Tackleway II booked their place in the quarter-finals with a splendid 2-1 success over top-flight Battle Town.
Strikes by Wes Peoples and Luke Gasson earned Tackleway a home last-eight meeting with Northiam II or Westfield III, despite Jamie Lindsay finding the net for Battle.
Bexhill AAC II, Robertsbridge United II and Sedlescombe Rangers all scored four goals as they progressed in the Macron Store Hastings Vase.
AAC prevailed 4-1 in a quarter-final clash between Division Three's top two against Pevensey & Westham at Eastbourne Sports Park.
Harvey Lincoln, Andrew Matthews, Leo Oliver and Kiri Dauti earned AAC a sixth successive win in all competitions, albeit the first without a clean sheet.
Bexhill AAC III were unable to join their clubmates in the last four as they were beaten 4-0 by Sedlescombe at Crowhurst Recreation Ground.
Adam Bond's brace, and one apiece by Spencer Sharkey and Liam Whicker ensured Division Three side Sedlescombe overcame their Division Four opponents.
Robertsbridge got the better of fellow Division Four team Hawkhurst United II 4-2 on their travels to set up a quarter-final against Little Common III.
Ashley Jamieson, Kian Jamieson, Kelvin Lowes and Samuel Sargeant were the four different Robertsbridge marksmen. Liam Dodson and Carl Emberson retaliated.
The ESFL Challenge Cup (Divisions 3/4) first-round tie between The JC Tackleway III and Wittersham finally went ahead after several postponements.
And it was Wittersham who prevailed in the all-Division Three affair, their 3-1 triumph setting up a home second-round meeting with Icklesham Casuals. Liam Miles got Tackleway's goal.
