With Rangers players having missed their football fix like many other in the past couple of months, FA guidelines changed to allow one-to-one coaching with adult players.
Coach James "Hoppo" Hopkins decided to plan and deliver 40-minute sessions for each player, once a week, which has had an excellent response.
"The benefits of delivering these sessions are not just the physical and technical sides of the game but the psychological aspects of being outside exercising, talking about life and just looking after each other’s mental wellbeing," said Hopkins.
The offering was open to first team and reserve team players and has had a great response in its first week with repeat bookings for the weeks ahead.
Feedback from one player went like this: “Very rewarding and enjoyable sessions. Fitness specifically for football incorporating ball skills, control, range of passing, shooting accuracy and SAQ. James is always happy to personalise the sessions to your specific needs. Perfect football fix.”
Chairman Marc Mckay praised the enthusiasm of the recently appointed first-team coach.
"Within minutes of it becoming apparent that one-on-one sessions were permitted, James was straight on the phone to me detailing his plans. The lads have loved the sessions, and it goes without saying that government social distancing and guidelines are observed at each session."
These sessions are also open to non-Eastbourne Rangers players through JH Soccer Coaching. Contact James on 07595431309 for more details.
