EP sign Dodd on loan

East Preston Football Club have signed striker Terry Dodd on loan for a month from Ryman League side Bognor Regis.

The prolific front man returns to The Lashmar, where he previously played before spells at Horsham YMCA and Worthing, in aid to return to full fitness.

EP manager Dominic Di Paola said: “We’ve got him for a month and we’re really grateful to Bognor. We’ve got a pretty good relationship with them to be fair.

“I’m not saying we’re the same as each other as a club, but we play the same sort of shape.

“We are really thankful and hopefully it’ll help us all. Giving Terry a bit of confidence in front of goal, he’s been up top on his own there and like any striker he wants to score goals, but he’s been taking one for the team.

“He’s a prolific goalscorer and knows a lot of our boys so he should fit in pretty quickly and he want’s to go back there firing on all cylinders and I know he will.”

Dodd signed for Bognor at the start of the 2011/12 campaign and netted 27 goals in their promotion-winning season which took them into the Ryman Premier Division.

This season he’s made 11 starts and six substitute appearances for Rocks having scored six goals.

Bognor secretary Simon Cook said: “Terry has this evening signed forms allowing him to join East Preston on a month’s loan.

“The club wish to stress that Terry is a player contracted to Bognor Regis Town, and is a valued and important member of the squad.

“However, this move gives Terry a great chance to regain full fitness and his hunger in front of goal.”

EP are set to travel to Crowborough in the league tomorrow, weather permitting.
