FA Cup first round draw: Crawley Town discover fate - and here's the full draw

Crawley Town have discovered who they will play in the first round of the FA Cup – and they have a tricky trip to face a Southern League side to prepare for.

League One and League Two clubs come in at the first round stage and the draw took place this evening live on TNT Sports.

Crawley, who have had a poor start to the league season and are five points adrift at the bottom of League Two, have been drawn away to Wimborne Town, who are in mid-table in the Southern League Premier South – the same step three division that Chichester City play in.

It should mean progress for Colin Kazim-Richards’ team – but with Crawley struggling for results in the league, Wimborne will relish welcoming them to Dorset.

Wimborne have beaten Portishead, Weston-super-Mare, Crowoborugh and – in the last round – Chelmsford City to reach the first round.

Fourth qualifying round defeats for Worthing and Eastbourne Borough meant the Broadfield outfit were Sussex’s only team in the draw.

Until Satuday, there were hopes that the Rebels and Borough might be in the hat too, but both slipped to disappointing defeats in the final qualifying round.

Worthing lost 3-0 away to National League rivals Wealdstone, who scored three times in a ten-minute spell early in the second half, with Ronan Maher, Fejiri Okenabirhie and Luke Norris on target.

Adam Hinshelwood’s side were gutted to go out and will now refocus on a league campaign that has gone very well so far for them.

Eastbourne Borough suffered a similar fate, losing 3-0 away to National South high flyers Salisbury, who play a division above Borough.

The first round draw, hosted by Matt Smith, was made by Martin Keown and Fara Williams.
