After two minutes, Sam Bull broke the offside trap and score to give ‘Hurst the lead.

Within five minutes Bull had an identical chance but the goalkeeper made a good save to prevent a 2nd. n the 15th minute, Billingshurst failed to press the Lingfield midfield and a long through ball bypassed the new centre back pairing of Eddie French and Robbie Tambling. This seemed to set the scene for a lackadaisical performance although the score remained 1-1 at half-time.

The only bright sparks being the runs of Ricardo Fernandes who continued to cause problems for the Lingfield defence.

The managers team talk seemed to have little effect and after 50 minutes , Billingshurst once again gave the ball away cheaply and conceded from a long range strike.

There was little reaction from the home side and it was no surprise when after 75 minutes, Lingfield bundled in a goal from a corner although the reaction of the players suggested a hand may have been involved in the final touch.

As manager Lee Spickett said: “A bad day at the office for us today."
