Faygate Utd hope to toast Charter Status by joining the County League

Faygate United FC are eagerly waiting to find out if they will be accepted into the Sussex County League.

The club’s first team finished fifth in the West Sussex Football League Premier Division, but with winners Cowfold and runners-up West Chiltington not opting for promotion, Faygate could take the place.

The club - which last month achieved FA Charter Standard Club status - runs five teams, three in the WSFL, with the Reserves in Division 2 North and the Thirds in Division 5 North.

Keveena Mosen of the Sussex County FA presented this Charter award to Faygate chairman Mike Baxter at Faygate Playing Fields, on Tuesday April 30.

The club’s under-18 team were winners of the cup and runners-up in the Sussex Sunday Youth League this season, and Faygate also run a Veteran’s team.

The club will stage their annual six-a-side tournament on Saturday July 20 for ages from under-eight to under-12, and Sunday July 21 for Under-sevens and under-13s and 14s.

New players of a good standard are welcome to join the club. Contact Mike Baxter on 01293 851261/07785231812 or email [email protected]. The club is also seeking additional sponsors. See: clubwebsite.co.uk./faygateutd
