Former Horsham manager stands as Lib Dem in elections


The Horsham District Council ward returned three Conservative candidates in 2011, including cabinet member for living and working communities Claire Vickers.
Villagers have been fighting houses west of Worthing Road, but HDC approved 594 homes in February.

Hide AdThe council also threw out proposals for a new ground for Horsham at Hop Oast in the parish of Southwater, which has prompted Charman to stand.
He tweeted: “It’s official, I am running for Horsham District Councillor to represent Southwater! #VoteForChange.
“Top of my agenda would be sports facilities. Save BBH Leisure Centre, save Horsham Bowls, and of course, a home for @HorshamFC. #VoteForGary.”
The other Southwater candidates are: John Chidlow (Conservative), Derek Deedman (Lib Dem), Chris Heath (UKIP), Ian Howard (Conservative), Jaqueline Little (Labour), Peter Shaw (Green Party), Roger Smith (Independent), Neil Whitear (UKIP).
