Former Yeovil Town and Torquay United star opens up on life after stepping up from non-league
It’s fair to say Dylan Morgan has settled into league football like a duck to water.
The 23-year-old signed for the Reds at the end of August from Torquay and has already made an impression, scoring his first League Two goal in the 3-1 defeat to Cheltenham.

And last week he was instrumental in the second goal that completed a good fightback against Chesterfield.
Morgan, who started his career at Southampton, was part of the Yeovil side that won the National League South title in 2024, helping to secure their return to the National League, before joining Torquay in December that year. He had an 18-month spell at Plainmoor, which saw him score 13 goals in 42 appearances for the Gulls last season.
The attacking midfielder gave an insight into what it is like to step up to the EFL.
"The league's better, that's a certain,” he said. “It's a bit quicker, you get punished a little bit more. But as far as experiences I've had myself, we're talking Yeovil and Torquay, quite a big clubs in that area, the stadiums and fans I wouldn't say is much different. So the adaptation, I think it's been pretty smooth. I'm here now and I want to kick on.
And the main differences? “I wouldn't say the game's played much differently. I'd just say there's more quality, and I think that'll be the same through the higher you go up. It's just people make quicker and better decisions,” said Morgan.
He also revealed Reds weren’t the only team who had a look at him. “I had some interest in the summer from various football league clubs and Crawley was one of them,” he said. “I went back and started the season and maybe some things happened here where they opened up and they were able to do something and then when it happened, it all happened pretty quick and smooth.”
And was the move from the West Country difficult for Morgan? He said: “I think for me it didn't really matter where it was. It was just the opportunity to get out of the National League and play in the EFL. So it happened to be Crawley and I'm delighted they brought me in and I'm happy to be here.”
