Four plus one adds up to football fun in Bognor

The Arena will host the inaugural local tournament for 16 to 18-year-olds based on five-a-side but called 4+1. It takes place on Thursday (March 10).

Players must be in part time-work, unemployed or not in education.

The winners will qualify to play in UK final at the National Futsal Arena in Birmingham in May.

The rules of 4+1 football are similar to five-a-side, but each player must take a turn playing as star man. When the star man scores, the goal is worth two, and when the keeper is star man, the teams must play without the keeper. It makes for a faster pace as the teams try to get the ball to the star man and they tend to shoot from anywhere when there is no keeper.
