Four signings boost Bexhill

The new Bexhill United joint managers have begun their squad building process with four high profile signings.

Jamie Podmore and Darrol Parris have snapped up Dominic Clarke, Andy Garman, Nathan Harding and Paul Henty as they prepare for an assault on Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Aerially strong target man Clarke was a prolific scorer at Westfield for several seasons and bagged 22 goals as Rye United won Sussex Division Two in 2009/10. The 28-year-old was also a peripheral figure in the Rye side which reached the FA Vase quarter-finals last term.

Garman is a jet-heeled and hard-working wide player who has played for Rye, Westfield, Sidley United and had a brief but successful spell with Bexhill towards the end of their memorable 2007/08 campaign when they won the Sussex Division Three Challenge Cup and Sussex Intermediate, as well as clinching promotion from Division Three.

The all-action Harding, who can play in a number of positions, has previously turned out for Rye, and had short stints at Bexhill and Sidley last term. Henty, 27, is a tough-tackling full-back who played for the now defunct St Leonards in the old Dr Martens League. He has since had spells with Sidley, Westfield and AFC Uckfield.

Bexhill have already lost four players - Gordon Cuddington, Ben Oakman, Chris Sanderson and Joe White - to Westfield and Andy Atkin to Redhill.
