'Full focus' - Crawley Town head coach only has one game ion mind heading into busy Easter weekend

Head Coach Colin Kazim-Richards only has one game in mind heading into a busy Easter weekend.

The Reds travel to Rodney Parade to face Newport on Good Friday before hosting Grimsby Town at the Broadfield Stadium on Monday.

Reds are currently in 21st place and ahead of the 22nd-placed Exiles only on goal difference.

With only two days between Newport and the Mariners, we asked Kazim-Richards if he had planned the line-up for Grimsby as well. “No, full focus on Newport,” he replied.

“Full focus on Newport. What happens after that happens, God willing in a positive way. But we deal with that when it comes.

"I don't think it would be right. I don't think it would be the best plan if I start thinking about Grimsby before the Newport game. It's totally different, right? It's a different game depending on what happens.

“So this is the most important game right now. This is the six-pointer right now. This is a game that we are going out to win.

“And that's it. After Friday at 5.30pm, you can ask me. But right now it's full focus on Newport.”

But the former Blackburn and Brighton striker doesn’t believe their fate will be decided on Good Friday.

He said: “I don't think it all rides on Good Friday in terms of there's still another five games to play after that, right? Logically, and we won't be mathematically safe, but it's massive.

“It's the biggest game because it's the next game. Simple as that, right? Because I'm sure after Saturday, you're going to tell me the game on Monday is a massive game as well, right? So it's the biggest game because it's the next game, but also it's so important because they are where we are.”
