The torrential rain of this morning has just put paid to Rye United’s scheduled visit from Horsham YMCA in Sussex County Football League Division One.

In Division Two, Westfield’s game away to Saltdean United and Bexhill United’s trip to Steyning Town are also off, while Little Common’s visit to Haywards Heath Town has failed an 11.30am pitch inspection.

The match referee will decide if Hastings United’s home match against Walton & Hersham in Ryman League Division One South goes ahead. If it does, kick-off at The Pilot Field will be 3pm.

United groundsman Simon Rudkins wrote on social network site Twitter: “There are no local refs available to do a pitch inspection so will be down to match ref to decide if game can go ahead.

“Clouds look lighter now rain has eased still water on pitch but if it stays like this a bit more forking should get game on.”

Westfield’s reserve team fixture at home to AFC Uckfield has been postponed, as now has the local derby between the second teams of Bexhill United and Little Common. Much of the ADA East Sussex Football League programme has been washed away too.
