The club was pleased to be able to field goalkeeper Steve Cook, who made his comeback after 984 days out through injury since he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and tore his meniscus while playing for the club.

Magham Down returned to competitive action after Lockdown 2 with a 4-4 draw at Orington.

The hosts went ahead early on from a dubious penalty given for handball but skipper Matt Sedgwick equalised midway through the first half.

Shay Stolton’s free-kick gave Down the lead at the break.

Jamie Cherryman extended their lead but Orington netted another. Kevin Roberts claimed Down’s fourth with a slight touch before the hosts pulled back levelled in the last 10 minutes.

Weather permitting, Down entertain Sovereign Saints II tomorrow (2pm).
