Littlehampton’s Sussex Senior Cup quarter-final tie at home to Eastbourne Borough fell foul to the weather with just an hour to go before kick-off.

The Sportsfield pitch was deemed playable at 5pm but the freezing conditions meant the game was called off by referee Graham Kane, with an area in front of the main stand the concern.

Golds will now host Borough on Tuesday evening, with a 7.30pm kick-off.

East Preston were also victims of the inclement weather as they travelled to Eastbourne Town for their league match in the Southern Combination League Premier Division.

They were left disappointed when match referee Adrian Harris called the game off 30 minutes before kick-off.

Paul Ettridge’s side had already made the trip to Eastbourne, before the match was postponed.

East Preston entertain Loxwood in the league on Saturday.
